Size 14 ‘too fat’ for Vogue cover?

You wouldn’t believe why Ashley Graham was crucified.
Fashion brands refused to dress plus-sized model Ashley Graham for cover shoot.
Ashley Graham has always been vocal about the fashion industry having to adapt their standards when it comes to society’s perception of the ‘ideal model psyche’.
She remains an inspiration to women with fuller figures and embraces her own curves saying: ”I felt free once I realized I was never going to fit the narrow mould that society wanted me to fit in” yet once again she has come under fire for her voluptuous form.
According to British Vogue editor-in-chief Alexandra Shulman, some designers refused to dress Graham, who appears on the front cover of fashion holy grail magazine simply because she did not meet the standard model size.
‘They were enthusiastic about dressing a woman who is not a standard model, but sadly there were other houses that flatly refused to lend us their clothes. It seems strange to me that while the rest of the world is desperate for fashion to embrace broader definitions of physical beauty, some of our most famous fashion brands appear to be travelling in the opposite – and, in my opinion, unwise – direction, said Shulman.
In an era where millions of people worship the Kardashian clan who is famous for their rear ends and curves – how come women with fuller figures are still subjected to this kind of body shaming?
